1. What path did Armen Sargsyan take?

Armen Sargsyan was born in 1953 in Yerevan. On June 23 in Yerevan. Married, has two sons, three grandchildren.

 

Graduated from Yerevan State University, Department of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics. From 1976-1984 he taught physics at YSU, founded the Computer Modeling Department of Complex Theory of Theoretical Physics.

Back in the Soviet era (1984-1985 and 1989-1991) he was a foreign researcher and lecturer at the University of Cambridge, Institute of Mathematics, University of London.

1992-1995 Armen Sargsyan was Armenia's Ambassador to the United Kingdom. At the same time he held the posts of Armenia's "Senior Ambassador" to Europe, to the European Union, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and the Vatican.

1995-1996 He was the head of Armenia's mission to the European Union.

1996 On November 1, 2009, Armen Sargsyan became Armenia's fifth Prime Minister, but served for only four months. On February 28, 2009, he resigned. To date, some have been inclined to think that the reason for Armen Sargsyan's resignation was his clash with Defense Minister Vazgen Sargsyan. But there is no evidence to support that hypothesis.
